Hostas
As you may know, I love my garden. And I love my Hostas.
Trouble is, they don't often keep looking like this for very long .. the New Forest's massed ranks of gastropods normally munch them to oblivion by this time in the year.
This year, however, something is different.
Maybe it's the cold Spring.
Maybe it's new soil in the pots.
Maybe it's rough-as-hell sheep wool around the plants
Maybe it's the truly vile garlic spray I use regularly now
Whatever it is, it's worked. Whilst not immaculate like this image (from Canva) the Hostas in my garden are looking fit and healthy and in pretty good shape.
I guess the difference really was that I applied a LOT more attention to them this year, and did this regularly.
Who knows what the real reason was .. but I for one am going to keep doing the things that work, regularly, and listening to the experts.
Not a bad lesson for life, really
