The Thin Multi-Riser is on a base of 1/4" Prolite. This one is most useful when you are using the pad solely for saddle fit purposes - to balance out a saddle left-to-right, or front-to-back, or to help remedy saddle slip under guidance from a saddle fitter for example.
The Standard Multi-Riser is on a base of 1/2" Prolite. This is particularly useful when the horse requires additional cushioning, in addition to using the shim inserts. For example, when say there’s a novice rider on board, on long-distance trail rides, for riding school horses who are ridden by riders of different levels & weights or for any horses who are ridden for long periods of time.

In addition to the 'base' which is 1/2" on the thick and 1/4" on the thin version, the Multi-Riser has four pockets with shims that can be removed to alter the depth at the front or the rear.

I chose to use the PROLITE PAD on horses that need the extra support during their muscle growth and gain while being ridden. This pad is designed to help the horse’s back when it is lacking muscle and will allow the horse a chance to grow some muscle, while adding support and relief to the spine, spinal ligaments, ribs and top line. If you have removable shims in your pad, remove them first then put it in the machine on a gentle wash at 30 degrees. Dry flat away from direct heat and DON'T tumble dry it!

We worked on getting Twiggy to collect and lengthen her canter stride without “hopping” in a shorter stride and instead pushing herself with her hind end. She forgets that she has a nice hind end to use!
We started over poles, moved up to small verticals, and eventually to larger fences. We worked on lengthening our stride to each line, but staying collected and working on our strides within the line.
It was hard for both of us, but an exercise we definitely needed. We’re headed Windridge Farms this week to compete in Training - wish us luck!

Utterly clueless, desperate father looking to sell daughter’s saddles to fund... another saddle.
Both saddles are leather with various straps. They both are a lovely brown colour – the colour of the stylin’, rugged motorcycle jacket I would have if I could afford a motorcycle. They have a pleasant, faint horse-like smell, and are in excellent condition from what I can tell. Both were made in exotic European countries I’ll probably never visit - the extent of my Italian exposure these days is the “foot-long Spicy Italian” sub from Subway as I eat en route to the barn 4 days a week…
I gather they fit horse-sized animals, but apparently not ours for some reason. They look pretty much the same to me – as does the next one we’ve bought, but I’m told that’s not the case…so here are some details from the people who know more about this stuff than I do:
