At 4.2 ⭐️ and 2k reviews on google it’s hard to give this tze char hotspot a miss. Plus if you’ve run out of places to eat at 10pm or smth, they operate till 2:15am!! So yes, at 1030pm on a Fri night, surprisingly there were still several patrons 😂

Overall I think every dish I had was well executed, nothing too greasy though I feel like they go a lil heavy handed on the salt 🙃

Thought that more eggs and char could be used. Was glad that there was no lack of squid/pork throughout the noodles tho👍🏼 Perhaps expectations were set too high, as I didn’t find it to be extraordinary. Never had the msia one so I can’t testify on how authentic this is 🧐

I ordered JB San Lou Mee Hoon (medium for 2 person🤣).
I feel the standard drop, I went twice (both around 9pm), the beehoon still crisp on top, but bottom now slightly wet. The beehoon springy and got wok hei.

Wasn’t difficult to decide on what to order cause we just went with the 2 staples:

• JB San Lou Mee Hoon // Not overly fried but with a slight crisp top and distinct wok hei + lots of flavour from the strips of cuttlefish and bits of fragrant egg

• Fried Garlic Chilli Lala // It’s more pricey than others out there, but v shiok! The clams we’ve had here have always been plump & v well coated in the bit spicy and super garlicky sauce

ALSO HAPPY WEEKENDS EVERYBODYYYYY. Just wanted to say that I’m just so happy this week is finally over 🥳

🌟San Lou Bee Hoon $7/$11/$14
i must say the bee hoon definitely taste better than how it looks like. It is a dish that almost every table will order. The “wok hei” is strong and the bee hoon is crispy on the outside yet moist to the bite.

🌟Lala with garlic chili $16/$24/$32
The lala are plump and juicy and taste great with the garlic and chill combination.

Been here a few times and really love their spread of zichar, but somehow yesterday’s san lou bee hoon wasn’t as wokhei and chao tah as I would like 🥵 the other zichar dishes like the salted egg prawn ball and har cheong gai (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS 🍗😍) was still damn good tho… hehe

First time trying this zichar restaurant in Geylang, and its so damn good 😌 Truly lives up to its rating on Google. Was searching for yummy zichar places in Singapore for my dad’s birthday bc that was what he wanted. Wanted to opt for another restaurant but whilst searching their menu online, i saw people had food poisoning after dining there... ABORTED MISSION AT 1AM and had to find a back up plan. Came across JB Ahmeng and im super glad 🥳 The foods were just seasoned right, the portion were also decent! This table could feed 6-7 pax 🤩 NOM NOM NOM 😋

Unlike its name, this restaurant has nothing to do with Singapore’s favourite Ah Meng🤪 BUTTTT it is definitely a favourite supper spot amongst many Singaporeans as it’s usually jammed pack even during wee hours of the night!!
It’s also one of our all time favourite go to supper spots for zichar 🤩🤩🤩 Confirm plus chop if you try this place once, we guarantee you will come back for moree!! It’s that gooddd😍

What we ordered:

JB San Lou Mee Hoon: It doesn’t look like much but it’s definitely the star of this restaurant🤩 A must order if you drop by at Ah Meng restaurant!!

Fried Garlic Chilli Clams (Lala): If you’re a fan of lala, this is a dish for you! The garlicky && spiciness of the clams were paired perfectly 🙌🏻

Salted Egg Prawn Roll: First time ordering this dish! It was a tad bit disappointing given that the portion was quite small for $20 && it was way too dry! Definitely will not order it again!

But that said, overall this place is still a decent go to place for seafood🤪 would give it a 4/5 adventure stars (-1 cos of the salted egg prawn roll)
