Todays recoloured photo shows The Three Mile House Bar in Durmahoe which sits on the Banks of the Faughan and beside Drumahoe Bridge, it was one of many businesses and homes flooded in August 2017.
The premises date back to at least 1830s when it was a coaching inn on the the main Derry to Dungiven road, during the mid 1960s a new road was opened running from Altnagelvin to Drumahoe Village which bypassed the old bridge. On the opposite bank of the Faughan there was a mill which closed c1920 and across the road you can find the Faughan Reformed Presbyterian (Convanters) Meeting House which dates back to 1786 also within the grounds there is a graveyard and the Sexton's cottage. The #Faughan is a renowned spate river for #salmon and sea #trout. Season #permits and #daytickets for the Faughan are available from the River Faughan Anglers Ltd.
A Loughs Agency licence is also required to fish this water.
Anglers are reminded to stay safe and follow the latest government advice regarding COVID and travel restrictions.
