WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Today's 31 Days Of Horror is also a special anniversary as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning was released on this day, 15 years ago. I know that this film is lookes down on as lesser than the 2003 remake but I think it holds its own pretty well. All things considered, it's better than most of the Chainsaw sequels & it maintains the style of the remake that balanced and the retro look while also maintaining its own sense of atmosphere. If there is a complaint, the film feels a bit like a rehash of its predecessor but I think it's a solid entry in the franchise and is entertaining throughout. 1. The cow that gets hit by the jeep was made of fiberglass and filled with blood, fake entrails and fake bones then screwed together.
2. During filming, R. Lee Ermey was called away to his mother's death bed. For the remainder of the time, filming was done around his character.
3. According to producer Brad Fuller, the film was given an NC-17 by the MPAA, and a total of 17 scenes had to be edited in order to get an R rating.
4. The chainsaw that Leatherface uses in the film weighed 35 pounds.
5. New Line had to pay $3M more than expected in order to keep the franchise after Dimension made a pricey deal with the original rights holders.
6. First movie to receive Iceland's 18 rating.
7. Taylor Handley impressed the director and producers so much when auditioning for the film, that they cast him immediately after the audition.
8. Jordana Brewster met and dated producer Andrew Form during the making of this film.

My Best Friend's Girl is total brain candy, for those who enjoy cheap good 'ole fashion raunchy humor. Cook is extremely funny in this film as he adds his natural stand up like rhythm to the character. Kate Hudson was great and beautiful, as always. Though there are some jokes that fall flat in the film and some that don't make much sense. The plot was rather simple but it was interesting and kept me hooked. Some people who watch this flick and who aren’t expecting a raunchy romantic comedy will hate this movie but if you go in expecting wild vulgar fun you'll dig it.
