Instead of the recommended fino, I skipped that and came across a can of @somersbybe in my cold room It's way too sweet a cider for me to consume as a #T1D , but the 1/4 cup splosh ⛲ will hopefully add to all the additional ingredients slowly simmering away. Sometimes out of pocket is the only route to go if you have the ability to afford it as a working stiff. So far, seeing improvement in getting my wonky knee without much meniscus left, after only 4 visits. No pain, no gain 😆 More exercises added today to do at home, to further beef up the muscles in my legs to support the knees. After this post, searching for a holiday treat to myself in late Nov/Dec that involves walking 🚶‍♀️and good food 😜

With so much protection surrounding the proprietary sets that @medtronicdiabetescanada / @medtronicdiabetes sells to their clients who rely on quality assurance to stay alive (a box of 10 of these costs $215 Cdn and are changed every 2-3 days). So, as I go to bed, my trusty Dexcom G4 system that I self fund with help from friends with benefits 💋 hopefully will alarm me incase things have gone wonky (it actually hurt going in, which is rare for me to go "ouch"). •

Read manual. Input all my data. Animas Vibe was at 1 unit this AM, so I did my usual thing . and went ahead with using pump before I hear from a rep (I think I know who it is, a former @accuchek_us employee and T1D, but sadly their pumps aren't in North America anymore). Big change from the MM522 I had abruptly taken away when trialling it back in 2008 and wanting to do a good test of my first pump on a floating city aka @norwegiancruiseline 🥰) and not being allowed to take it out of Canada. So it was @medtronicdiabetescanada loss, and Animas's gain with them seeing my blog and coming to my rescue with a pump. Still wanting to have @ypsomeddiabetescare_canada pump, but with warranty being null/void on my Vibe, had to go this route temporary and not be without a pump. Sadly, can't afford Medtronics CGM (and that's why I'm part of @facesofpharmacare since many of us pay out of pocket to stay alive here in Canada) I still don't trust it's accuracy compared to the G4 from @dexcomcanada / @dexcom !
Now what to name this little bigger while he's living with me? You know me and my pumps having a name 🤪

it's time to eat with my Dexcom CGM telling me I was dropping. What a beautiful day to be by the water, perfect temps, as our holiday comes to a close. A full day of ⛵ sailing to get back to our home port on Sunday, but we'll be going with the 🌊current on the Saint Lawrence River and so far 🌬️winds are in our favour for sailing all the way.
